More dress inspiration

More wedding dress ideas. Don't remember who designed them, what do you think? I liked the middle one of the last post the best, by the way. I love how delicate the bottom two look, it looks like an oil painting from the turn of the century...speaking of, do you think having your portrait painted as a newly married couple is too pretentious?

  1. The last 2 are beautiful. Very fairtyale-like and I love the bow!

  7. painted wedding portrait pretentious? depends on how it's done. in general, i think they're a great idea. i'm thinking along the lines Herman Blume's family portrait in 'Rushmore'....

  8. The top is my fave.... but as far as the painting goes hmm. I think I struggle with the same thoughts... I've always wanted to do one mostly b/c I love the grand dames I see in museums but then I think only the rich and vain do that... but we do live in a different time under different circumstances.

  9. The second and third ones are divine - even better than the last ones you posted. I once had my portrait painted with my sisters - I look out of it and have oversized man-hands...but even so, I think it would be great to have a wedding portrait! Sure, it's outdated - but at least it's more interesting than a zillion and one black and white photos.

  10. These are stunning! I love the collar on the first one, and the other two are beautifully understated yet stunning and somewhat delicate.

  11. I love your choices ... definitely inspirational! The designer is Monique Lhuillier, who is simply fantastic.

And a wedding portrait sounds like a beautiful idea. I think if it makes you happy, do it!

    All the best!

  12. i love that middle one (i'm with the others). it's kind of fun to poke back into your blog after a break and see where things are.

about the oil portraits...i think if you make it silly enough, like maybe dress up to really look like one of those old royal portraits (or do the reverse) it could work. i kinda like the idea.
