ur right about the thunderstorm - would be FANTASTIC in there (conservatory)!!! .. and a GREAT room for creative visions!!!
*uh oh* .. i think the kids look cute :o) .. yes "adult" like - and i wouldn't wanna push that on my kids - well if i had any - but fashion wise - looks cute .. *sorry*
Uh... the finger to the lip thing is making me want to vomit. It's not just that they look too grown up. They look a little too sexually assertive. What the hell happened to being a kid?
It's just all too contrived and ridiculous. Individually, they have lots of great pieces, but the look is stupidly affected. Whatever happened to children looking like children?!?
Well I don't think it's disgusting at all...over-styled, yes. But I don't think they look 'sexually assertive' or sexual AT ALL. They look like little girls wearing stylish clothes. Guess it's in your perspective.
My little 2.5 year old loves accessories so she's always adding this or that to her outfit...it's not something I do - something she does. So yeah, some kids do style themselves and can look slightly similar to these girls. Are SOME of the Crew Cut items very adult 'looking'...yes, but they're not inappropriate. Have you seen what else is out there for little girls???...believe me, J. Crew doesn't even touch the others as far as inappropriateness. Personally, I'm so thankful this line exists because Target, Gymboree, and the Children's Place clothes are just not for everyone. My girl reaches for the Crew Cut dresses and such all the time - she loves them! They're comfortable, stylish, and wash well...but yeah, you have to search their sale section because they're definitely overpriced (like all J.C clothing).
EEk! I have to agree with Green Nest - Overstyled but thank goodness for crew cuts - my 3 yr old loves it and my 12 yr old niece does too - so glad to see her wearing J crew instead of allllll the trashy stuff that is out there for preteens...nothing sexual about the clothes...
You guys are right, there isn't anything sexual about the clothes, they are fine. Its the styling for these catalogs that I think is icky. I have seen a couple of Crew Cuts outfits I wish were made into adult sizes!
Yay! Your gonna reach out to me! I am so excited. I have tried to make commenting here easy for both of us. So please try your hardest to read the squiggly letters so I can chat with you.

ReplyDeleteErika, it's ok, we can still be friends :) I will totally invite you to my conservatory.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what's up with J.Crew's styling of late. Both the children and adults look ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that it is disgusting. :(
ReplyDeleteI love it! "It" being you saying what every other blogger is thinking, but would never say. It's too much.
