Commissions are cool!!
I painted this commission for a client in St. Louis named katie, and I love how it looks over her sofa. She also decided to go with a floating frame from Franken Frames, my favorite source for very affordable, great quality wooden floating frames for paintings. She chose model number 2008 btw.
Love this!
ReplyDeleteSo this is really really lovely … I’m curious, though, what was the design spec on this one? What did the client ask for? How did this differ from one of your regular paintings?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures really don't do it justice! Michelle, thanks for the incredible painting, and for being so easy to work with. You rock!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great. You are so talented. I want one.
ReplyDeleteyou're cool.
ReplyDeleteand now she's cool.
What can I say...it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the floating frame source. I think I'm going to frame your painting in a pale birch. Love this piece, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteI want to be a Saint Louis client! Kate, you lucky girl. I'm drooling over the color scheme. What a fantastic space!!! Well done.
ReplyDeleteHI! Just posted some of your incredible art on my blog today! Just wanted to let you know!

I was also wondering what this customer asked for, did she give you a list of favorite colors, images, a 'mood' for her painting? I am also thinking about a comission and would like to know more. My painting would be about 5'x6', so it will be a focas point too... please share!

Hi Anon,
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly. This client sent me fabric swatches, photos of her home, and showed me the paintings of mine that she liked best in terms of composition and color. I took all of this information and let it sit in my brain for a little while, then I painted this for her; an original piece that features the shapes and colors she likes best!
This painting looks so good and the colour match with the furniture is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love this and it complements the room. Great work!
