Happy Birthday Coco

When we brought her home, she just stayed in bed for a week.

So we brought her bed with us all over the house, the bedroom, the living room to hang out, she and her "ducky" were always with us.

She is my sidekick, always right next to me...in all of my shots.

Cuddling on the couch.

Coco is trying to sneak into the kitchen in the morning because O is cooking...see how her tail is down low, in espionage mode.

Ferocious little doggy.

One year ago today I went to the pound to pick up our Coco, she was very scared, drugged and had a bad cold. She stayed in bed for about a week, with only her little goose toy (ducky) and she got better and we started to love her. And now we can't imagine life with out her barking at the cars outside at dusk, jumping into bed every night and taking up half of it, sneaking her way into the kitchen, and trying to burrow under the stove. She also purs when you rub her belly and her head at the same time, and talk to her...O is way better at it than me.
A year in pictures.

Dutifully waiting for me to finish blogging so we can go on a nice long walk.

  6. So sweet! I'm always touched by how well dogs recover - they are so much more willing to forgive than we are.

  7. Happy birthday Coco.

My dog is two and a half years old. He is always by my side today whilst I wasn't feeling well (self inflicted hangover from Chinese New Year) he was cuddling me in bed and when I look around behind me- there he is!

Don't you find that little dogs seem to grow in the night when they are trying to share your bed? 95% for the dog, 5% for you?!

  10. OMG she is sooo cute! And made me smile because my first dog when I was little (a Beagle) that I named Coco :) What a sweetie. Reminds me of my beloved Siamese, Sadie, that was my best friend for 10 years up until she passed a couple years ago. It's amazing what love and devotion a pet can give. Happy Birthday, Coco! xx

Give Coco a hug for me - makes me a little sad because when we came to the UAE for a year this past Fall, we had to leave my dog behind. He is being well cared for by my brother back home in Ohio (and he is so happy!) but we miss him awful.

She is SOOO sweet! It's so lovely to have a little dog friend; they can make a grey day better, and they're always so happy for your company. I'm waiting for the day I can have one again.

  16. you little friend is so sweet. I would love so very much to have a pup- but life isn't quite settled enough yet. Mind if I live vicariously through you?

  17. No problem Miss. B, um, Coco has to go out, better hurry, she might pee on the rug. Oh, and it is raining, so she will protest, cuz she is a dainty dog (unless there are treats involved, then she is a wrestling dog)...happy vicarious dog ownership!

  20. Happy birthday to your sweet pup! Coco is so adorable in all the photos but my favorite has to be the one where she's curled up with her duck and tucked under her blankie. My heart melted when I noticed she was wearing one of those elizabethan collars from the vet.

Congratulations on you and Coco finding each other. It was obviously meant to be!
