My sofa got a boob job
Remember my inspiration photo?
Behold! The glory of new fabric and nail head! Can you feel the softness, the fabric was 2.99 a yard from Fabric World in Stone Mountain, Ga. (Home of the Chuckle Hut!!) I would have preferred it in silver or a soft charcoal, but cheep ass girls can't be choosy.
Well, what I mean is, wouldn't a geometric rug looks ball'n in here now? It feels like a whole new sofa, and it is. If you are in Atlanta, and need an affordable, amazing upholstery job, contact Angie at NewAgainUpholstery@gmail.com, you will not be sorry.
Fabulous :) every sofa needs a boob job!
ReplyDeleteI want to twiddle your sofa's new round bits.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. It looks so good I want to rub my face in it...
ReplyDeleteOh my God!!! It looks identical! You basically took my favourite image in the whole world for inspiration and turned it into reality and the result is stunning!!! My jaw literally dropped to the floor upon seeing this! And I say yes to the neutral geometrical rug!! WOWWWWW!
ReplyDeleteCouch looks stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'll be in Atlanta tomorrow!! We're coming down for the Supercross race at the Georgiadome.
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!? It looks stunning and I love the fabric! It looks exactly like your inspiration pic. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteStudly sofa you have there. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks SO GOOD. (Dare I ask for a before photo?)
ReplyDeletelooks fantastic! seriously. it's got to be a great feeling seeing your old things have new life xo
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! Jo, have fun in our fair city, the weather is just killer right now (this time last year we had 20 degree bullshit all month long.)
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I wish I had a good before, but it doesn't show how gross the fabric actually was. I have photos from when we first bought it, but you can't tell it is about to melt into a puddle of gross dog hair and...stuff.
Ugh, you just gave away two of my favorite local secrets, FW and Angie!
ReplyDeleteShhhhhh.
Your sofa looks amazing. The nailhead design is over-the-top. Love it!
OK, in lieu of a before, can I ask what you were starting with (brand/style/age)? It is knocking my socks off into oblivion.
ReplyDeleteRebecca,
ReplyDeleteSure! We bought a new sofa (after much, MUCH searching, compromising with a man on a real furniture purchase can be super hard) about 4 years ago. After one month, he turned to me and said, you were right, this fabric blows. It was a poly weave and it pilled something awful, and took stain from our jeans, and dog hairs never came out, and it wasn't sturdy enough to keep it's shape. I got it at a chic little boutique here in Atlanta, it was a floor sample, read: deeply discounted. I am planning on changing the feet soon too. I liked the shape and it was comfy, so I knew some day I would re-cover it (even if my hubs didn't) heheheh.
Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteTotally been there on the furniture compromise and ended up with something we hate. New rule: both have to love for it to live in this house!
Your boob-job'd sofa got nailed and it looks steamy hot!
ReplyDeleteMichelle! That is a ROCKIN' sofa and the fact that you found fabric for that price makes me bow down to you even more (seriously, that makes me love you so much my heart is going to burst). Great job!! I wish you and new boobilicious sofa a long and happy life together.
ReplyDeleteJust saw your comment. I wish we were in da ATL too. I've been keeping my jealous eye on that weather of yours. I sure do miss Atlanta sometimes. We'll be there end of March for a week (heading south for a wedding). Maybe if we all have time, we can hook up.
ReplyDeleteIs this the couch I slept on?? Looks beyoootiful babe!
ReplyDeleteDuuuuuude, when do I get to come crash on this new beauty?? That rack is ALL kinds of awesome.
ReplyDeleteA! Yes thats the one, and it was this time last year too, I had fun with you! You need to send me an email update on your adventures asap.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I LOVE THE PICTURES!! The sofa looked beatiful when we had it in the shop but it looks GORGEOUS in your home! I love the fabric too!
ReplyDeleteAngie
i am sorry to have to say this but i would so rub my stank all over that. you could not stop me. and yes, a new rug..perhaps ourain-ish, is in order?
ReplyDeleteMay I ask where the faux Bois pillow fabric came from? I've been looking for something natural, but print-y like that. Thank you.
