Virginia Johnson

I have been so inspired by the fluid quality of water colors and gouaches lately. I know you have probably already seen Virginia Johnson's beautiful illustrations, but I think they are so graceful and really capture the essence of the scene. It may also be that I am working on some illustrations that look similar. Side note, she is also very gracious, I sent her an email about a year ago, with some questions about how she started her amazing business and she took the time to write me back with really helpful advice!

  8. Virginia Johnson is wonderful. I have the Kate Spade style book, just so I can stare at her illustrations.

I love my wool camel shawl. Her prints manage to be both figurative and abstract at the same time.

    Great blog, by the way!

  9. e, I am soo jealous! That is the one I really wanted. Can you really use it for yourself or as a throw? It seemed thin to me to use as a throw, what do you think?

  10. michelle-
the shawl is a bit thin for a throw, but it's so big, i can wear it like a blanket. although light, it's incredibly warm, which makes it perfect for offices and libraries during the summer. i can't wait to see her new designs for the fall! i agree, her animal prints are the best.
